EXPLORE THE WORLD OF SLAVS AND VIKINGS FROM WOLIN

    In the village of Slavs and Vikings:
Visiting the reconstructions of the dwelling houses and the craftsmen workshops from the early Middle Ages – from IXth to XIth century, you can see how the daily life of our ancestors could be and how they lived and worked.  In het inside of het huts of different constructions one can see the replicas of the furniture, tools and the daily life items used 1000 years ago. Experimental archaeology workshops   differ from typical museum or an open-air ethnographic museum that all the objects and equipment not only can one see but also touch and independently try various tools or sit on “historical” chairs, lay on bed or just transfer oneself into the times of  Slavs and Vikings.

    Shows and learning old crafts:
Everything in the Middle Ages from the daily life smallest items like a sewing needle to building the dwelling houses was hand-made using simple tools. Besides well-developed trade of craftsmen’s products, majority of the daily life items were hand-made. In the “Center of Slavs and Vikings” not only can you see the craftsmen work, dressed in historical clothes, but also try to work as well and then to know the life and work of the people living in Wolin 100 years ago in practice. 

    „Historical” games:
Specially prepared „historical” playground gives the air of enjoyment and laughter to the young and old.Tug-of-war of the wild boar’s skin, fighting on a balance in the military equipment, etc. 

    Viking snack:
Early medieval pancake with fruit preserve, honey or goat cheese prepared on the metal sheet over the fire, bread with hand-made lard, Herbal tea boiled in the cauldron over the fire.

15 PLN/person – visiting hours for schools, camps, summer camps and other organized children or youth groups. Group-minders, couriers, driver – visiting and snacks for free. Additional old cuisine – to be arranged.
